Reforesting Taiwan: SINOX Honored by the National Property Administration for Sustainability and Net-Zero Commitment

Amid the global challenges of climate change and environmental sustainability, SINOX firmly believes that corporate responsibility extends beyond products and markets to the land and environment we all share. In alignment with Taiwan’s 2050 net-zero emissions goal, we are committed to taking concrete action in support of sustainable development, contributing meaningfully to both the environment and future generations.
In recent years, the National Property Administration, Ministry of Finance (NPA, MOF) has launched initiatives such as the “Principles for Provision of National Non-public Use Marginal Land for Adoption for Environmental Protection” and the “Mechanism for Introducing Carbon Sink (Credit) Industry to National Land” By fostering collaboration between industry, academia, and enterprises, underutilized state-owned lands are transformed into sustainable areas that combine ecological conservation with carbon credit value—an approach that closely aligns with SINOX’s sustainability vision.
Revitalizing the Land and Empowering Local Communities
In 2025, SINOX officially joined the Forest Innovation Alliance, co-initiated by SHINFOX ENERGY and Fox Forest, committing to afforestation and carbon sink initiatives on state-owned land. As part of this effort, we participated in the revitalization and long-term sustainable management of state-owned land in Chishang Township, Taitung County. Through sustained engagement and long-term stewardship, we aim to create positive impacts on ecological restoration as well as local development.
This afforestation project goes beyond ecological improvement—it also responds directly to the needs of local communities. In 2025, the project created nearly 60 employment opportunities for middle-aged and senior citizens in the Hualien-Taitung area, with approximately 80% of participants coming from Indigenous families. As the project continues, it is expected to further engage local youth, facilitate intergenerational knowledge transfer, enhance Indigenous employment rates, and stabilize household incomes. In this way, afforestation serves not only as an environmental initiative but also as a catalyst for regional development and long-term social value.
At the early stage of adoption
The site consisted largely of overgrown weeds, exposed gravel, and fragmented marginal land, with scattered invasive species such as Leucaena leucocephala. The ecosystem lacked stable forest structure and biodiversity. Following initial land preparation and tree planting completed in March 2025, the site faced a severe test when two powerful typhoons struck consecutively in August and September.

National Recognition: An Honor and a Driving Force
In recognition of our participation in the Forest Innovation Alliance and our commitment to sustainable state-owned land initiatives, SINOX received national recognition alongside industry peers such as TAYA Group, Far EasTone Telecommunications Co., Ltd., and Yang Ming Marine Transport. For SINOX, this acknowledgment represents not only an honor but also a strong motivation to continue addressing societal and environmental expectations through concrete actions.
The ceremony brought together environmental organizations, educational institutions, financial bodies, and corporate partners, showcasing the impact of public-private collaboration in land conservation and net-zero initiatives. It further reinforced our belief that businesses play a vital role in advancing sustainability.
Rooted in Our Industry, in Harmony with Nature
Rooted in manufacturing and technological expertise, SINOX has long pursued quality and innovation while integrating environmental impact reduction and resource efficiency into our operational decision-making. Our participation in sustainable state-owned land and carbon sink initiatives represents a concrete ESG practice—particularly in the areas of environmental stewardship and social responsibility.
