SINOX Responds to International Car-Free Day on 9/22, Embracing Low-Carbon Commuting

1

For your daily commute, are you a driver or a commuter? Whether it's work, travel, social gatherings, or outings, which mode of transportation do you choose? While driving may be convenient, the overuse of cars has caused pollution, climate change, traffic congestion, and imbalanced urban planning. But do we really need so many cars?

Perhaps it's time to rethink and adopt greener, smarter ways to commute that benefit both us and the planet.

What is World Car-Free Day?

World Car-Free Day is celebrated every year on September 22nd and originated in France in the 1990s. Many European cities were suffering from air and noise pollution caused by cars. In response, 35 French cities organized a movement on September 22, 1998, encouraging people to stay "In Town, Without My Car!" and enjoy cleaner air and quieter streets.

This movement quickly gained attention across Europe, and by 2000, it became part of EU environmental policy, evolving into a global event.

Take One More Step to Save the Planet and Yourself!

With growing concerns over climate change, environmental protection and carbon reduction have become essential concepts! Do you know the impact of excessive carbon emissions? They lead to an increase in greenhouse gases, accelerate global warming, and bring about extreme weather conditions.

This is why International Car-Free Day encourages people to reduce car dependency and adopt eco-friendly transportation methods like walking, cycling, or using public transport.

SINOX's Commitment to Environmental Protection

SINOX not only advocates for reducing car use, but also actively participated in Car-Free Day. Employees commuted to work by "electric vehicles," "subway," "bicycles," or even on foot!

According to our latest ESG report, through systematic carbon management, this activity successfully reduced carbon emissions by 305(Kg/CO₂), equivalent to "1,200 km of driving avoided, 150 hours less air conditioning use, or 130 loads of laundry saved."

Let's join hands and look forward to a fresher, greener future together!
