The Birth of the Hamburger Lock: From Concept to Reality

In modern society, bicycles have become the preferred mode of transportation for many people in their daily lives. Whether for commuting or leisure, this eco-friendly form of travel is not only environmentally friendly but also convenient. However, with the increasing number of bicycles, the problem of theft has also risen, posing a challenge for owners on how to effectively prevent theft. To address this issue, the R&D team at SINOX embarked on the exploration of a new type of lock &mdashthe;Hamburger Lock.
From Identifying Pain Points to the Birth of Innovation
"Traditional locks, while somewhat effective in preventing theft, are often heavy and difficult to carry, which causes many bike owners to feel troubled when choosing a lock," said Thunder, the R&D Director at SINOX.
Unlike motorcycles, bicycles have different frames, and their usage is generally for shorter distances within urban areas. If we only focus on lock strength without addressing the pain points of cyclists in different scenarios, we might end up with a product design that "causes more trouble than it's worth" for users. Therefore, the SINOX team decided to address this issue by finding a lock solution that enhances security while being easy to carry.
The Design Journey of the Hamburger Lock
From Innovative Design to Market Impact
The introduction of the Hamburger Lock not only earned SINOX the prestigious Reddot Design Award and Golden Pin Design Award but also garnered widespread attention in the market. This lock, while lightweight, provides excellent anti-theft protection and has received praise from numerous users. Previously, the term "Hamburger Lock" did not exist in the two-wheel market. After SINOX's breakthrough in the cycling market with its innovation, the term "Hamburger Lock" brought new vitality to our industry customers. With growing demand, the SINOX team further introduced a newly designed "Combination Hamburger Lock" (WL0790), enhancing both convenience and security.
